Although Sheffield Wednesday ran out as 3-1 winners in their match against Charlton Athletic at The Valley in Saturday’s early kick-off, there was a moment that had left fans feeling rather frustrated.
Half time change for the Owls;
Forestieri

It has since been revealed that Fernando Forestieri had been forced to withdraw from the action with a reported knee injury (via The Sheffield Star), however fans were fuming with Garry Monk’s decision at the time, with many suggesting that they were done with the manager if it were not because of a knock.
The 29-year-old has struggled for consistent game time this season with suspensions and injuries playing a huge role in keeping him out of the Owls’ side, but he was given his chance to impress from the beginning.
Indeed, whilst he did not get on the scoresheet, the Argentine-Italian did manage to have three attempts at goal and created one key pass from the left-midfield position Monk decided to utilise him in (per WhoScored).
Immediate reactions from the fans upon hearing the news that Forestieri would not be featuring in the second half was one that was rather negative, with many claiming they had had enough of the current regime.
Here are just some of their views at the time…
If it’s for injury then fair enough if it’s for the miss then Monk can pack his bags

I only accept that if it’s injury. If it’s for anything else, I give up.
