Sheffield Wednesday suffered a humiliating defeat at the weekend to Brentford in the Sky Bet Championship as the Bees ran out 5-0 winners at Griffin Park.
It was a typical Wednesday result, in truth. After showing a bit of grit and fight in the cup against Manchester City last week, inconsistency once again crept in for the Owls as Brentford earned an emphatic win.
Indeed, it was also a game that befitted the saying that, as good as the home side were, the away side were awful and, naturally, the fall out on social media has been large in terms of Owls fans slating their side.
Now in the bottom half of the table, the Owls can only hope to just finish as high as possible as their momentum is lacking and form suggests they won’t get near a late play-off run.
Summer will be important, and Dom Howson has shared this update concerning that:
The state of play on the contract status of every #SWFC player. @LiveSwfc https://t.co/MouVac9zTg

Let’s see how Owls have reacted to the news:
Get rid of the lot, all senior players must go including Bannan this summer, clean sweep, get rid of all the trouble makers, all who are happy to tread water in the championship whilst on Premiership money #SWFC we need a manager that wants and can take control of everything

How can we get rid of players under contract if no one wants to pay a decent fee for them? And how could we then bring 11+ players to the club? We couldn't buy a full squad because of FFP, we'd end up with a squad full of has beens, a bit like what we have now.
