Sheffield Wednesday narrowly lost to Manchester City yesterday evening in the FA Cup as the Owls fell foul to a Sergio Aguero strike within ten minutes of the second half beginning.
Of course, few expected the Owls to win the game given the sheer depth and quality that City have but they still ran their visitors close and a number of players did themselves proud with their performances.
The likes of Dominic Iorfa, Joe Wildsmith and Alex Hunt all caught the eye with their displays but, that said, a few players also struggled to stand out against the Premier League champions.
Indeed, one of those, unfortunately for him, was Alessio Da Cruz, a January arrival for the Owls.
He’s yet to really catch the imagination at Hillsborough since arriving at the start of the year and that much was clear last night going by the comments that were made about him on social media.

It wasn't embarrassing. Fair play to the defence, especially Wildsmith who made some cracking saves. But we never set up to win. Keeping Da Cruz and JP on left us with effectively 9 men. #swfc
