A second-half Sergio Aguero goal was enough for Manchester City to beat Sheffield Wednesday last night in the FA Cup fifth round as the Owls put in a decent display at Hillsborough.
The men from South Yorkshire haven’t always impressed at home this season and some fans could have been forgiven for going into this game fearing the worst.
Indeed, they were up against a strong City side packed with top players and so it was always going to be tough.
However, the Owls impressed with their work ethic and quality, at times, on the ball and could perhaps have snatched something had things fallen their way a little better.
In the end, they did themselves justice against one of the great sides in the current game and fans were impressed with a number of individual displays.
Indeed, in goal, Joe Wildsmith played a blinder and fans were quick to praise him on social media after a rare outing for the Owls:
