Many Sheffield Wednesday fans are reacting to the latest reports which suggest that another Championship club are interested in signing Jordan Rhodes.
According to journalist Dom Howson, Queens Park Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Rhodes. The striker has only made three Championship starts this season.
With Rhodes only scoring 14 goals in 90 appearances, he may well be short of confidence, and these latest rumours will not do him the world of good. This season, he is still struggling to find the back of the net, only scoring one goal in 14 appearances (Transfermarkt).
It seems like most fans agree that it would be best for the player to move on with one saying ‘get rid’. It will definitely be frustrating as he showed his potential between 2012-2015 at Blackburn as he scored 72 goals in three Championship seasons (Transfermarkt).
If the Owls could get Rhodes off the wage bill it might be a great idea so that they can look to pick up a more prolific forward in January to help them try and push away from the relegation zone.
Here is what fans have said following the rumours around Jordan Rhodes:
“For his benefit I hope he goes. Not worked out at Wednesday as with a few others”
“I would negotiate any offer that comes in. His time has been and gone. Nice lad, but offers nothing for us. Get off the wage bill and look to get someone in who’s hungry to prove a point.”
“I’ll drive him there”
“Wanted it to work for JR but the fact it just hasn’t… he’s not scored regularly now for about 6 seasons”
“Get rid, hasn’t worked for him. Best of luck to him in the future”
“Yes please likes of him crippling the club”
