The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been in joyful spirits this season, after watching their team sprint out of the blocks during the opening exchanges of the 2016/17 campaign.

German boss Jurgen Klopp has put his own stamp on the squad during the summer and he will be desperate to finally land a Premier League title for the long-suffering Reds fans here in the Tavern.

The Reds’ faithful have spent many late nights here in the Tavern this season necking bottles of champagne and dreaming of finally landing the elusive crown.

With so many clubs in the Premier League harbouring serious title ambitions, Reds boss Klopp knows that he must dip his toe into the transfer market in January if he is serious about collecting the title at the end of this season.

With that in mind, Tavern writer Lee Clarke looks at two players who, if signed during January, would secure the title for Liverpool this season.

Marco Reus

The Dortmund winger knows all about playing under Jurgen Klopp and he would be a real coup for the current Liverpool side, given the style of football that they now play.

The 27-year-old looks more than happy at Dortmund right now, but a move to make a reunion with his former coach could be a big part of any decision he does make to leave.

One ardent Liverpool supporter is playing on the games machine here in the Tavern and he thinks if Reus signed during January, the Reds would be nailed on for the Prem.

Michael Keane

The future England central defender has been in incredible form for Burnley this season, with his future looking unlikely to remain at Turf Moor beyond January.

Keane is a modern-day central defender, possessing superb composure when it comes to playing the ball out from the back.

Although Liverpool have looked much more solid at the back this season compared to future years, there does remain an element of doubt regarding the fitness of Dejan Lovren.

One Liverpool supporter is enjoying a Sunday roast here in Tavern and he thinks Keane would be a solid English acquisition which would please him greatly.
