The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the latest update they’ve been given in their club’s pursuit of signing Napoli midfielder, Jorginho. According to CalcioNapoli24, the Italian club have been offered 50 million euros plus Oleksandr Zinchenko for the Italian, although Aurelio De Laurentiis isn’t interested in the player.

The news that Manchester City have tried to included Zinchenko in the Jorginho deal is hardly surprising. Napoli almost signed the Ukrainian last summer, with Maurizio Sarri rating the player very highly. However, now Sarri’s departure from the club is imminent and De Laurentiis isn’t interested in Zinchenko, Pep Guardiola could have to shell out up to 10 million euros more to secure the signature of Jorginho.
Manchester City could easily look elsewhere for a defensive midfielder, although it seems Guardiola has earmarked Jorginho, with his mobility and range of passing being a key reason for the Spanish manager’s interest. However, the 26-year-old’s stock has been rising, and whether City are willing to continue agreeing to the price rises that Napoli are pushing is another matter, as we saw City cancel their Mahrez interest in January for the same reasons.

Nah, Zinchenko will become much valuable as he grows.
