Unai Emery has had plenty of targets since he moved to Arsenal, and many of them, he’s been able to land. Between Lucas Torreira, Stephan Lichsteiner and Bernd Leno, Emery has already been able to build a new core of the team, and it seems as though he wants even more.
According to a report in the Times this week, Arsenal want Lille winger Nicolas Pepe. He’s a talented winger with bags of power, pace and potential, and he’s enjoyed a very good campaign so far over in France.
Despite being unproven in the Premier League, it seems as though Pepe is a player that many Arsenal fans would love to see at the Emirates.
We recently asked supporters whether they’d like Pepe to join the club, and of those polled, a whopping 89% revealed that they’d love to have him at the Emirates.
With 8 goals and 5 assists this season, numerically Pepe is clearly a talented player.
Add to that his decent work ethic and quality on the ball, not to mention his potential – given that he’s just 23-years-old – and it’s clear that Arsenal could have quite the player.
Of course, there is the flip side to all of that, namely the fact that he’s unproven in England and that he hasn’t had many years at a particularly high level, and that may be putting some fans off. Still, most appear convinced that he would be a good choice.
He won’t be cheap, but a move for Pepe would go down well with many fans, it seems.
