The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are desperately hoping that their team can finish the season with a flourish and secure a return to the Champions League via a top four finish in the Barclays Premier League.

It has been a funny old season for the Reds in truth and although they have secured some significant victories over sides competing at the top end of the table, they have dropped some rather frustrating points against the top flight’s lesser clubs.

One priority for Jurgen Klopp this season must be to strengthen his squad and a return to the Champions League would certainly allow him to attract a better plethora of talent than what he currently has at his disposal.

Our landlord is intrigued by this and he decided to take a look at two industrious midfielders that the Liverpool boss should pursue during the summer transfer window.

Naby Keita

The Red Bull Leipzig midfielder is thought to be admired by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and after a great season in the Bundesliga he could be sought after in the summer.

One Liverpool supporter is sat talking about the club’s transfer business in the Tavern’s beer garden and he thinks that Keita would be a fantastic addition to the squad during the summer.

Sven Bender

The Dortmund midfielder would be a remarkable coup for a Premier League side and although persuading him to leave his current club might prove tricky, if anyone can it’s the Liverpool boss.

One Reds supporter is enjoying  few Easter drinks here in the Tavern and he agrees that persuading Bender could be a tough task, although he does concede that he would be a fantastic addition to the current squad.
