The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern were drowning their sorrows last night after crashing out of the Carabao Cup.
Bristol City recorded one of the most memorable victories in their club’s history last night with a dramatic 2-1 win over Manchester United at Ashton Gate. The game was tied at 0-0 at half-time despite the fact United hit the woodwork on two occasions during the first-half. In the second-half the game truly sparked into life after Joe Bryan scored a sublime goal after 51 minutes to send The Robins into raptures.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic captained the side for the evening and led by example to bring United back onto level terms in the 58th minute with his first goal of the season.
Despite United’s onslaught throughout the remainder of the second-half, they were unable to find a way past Luke Steele in the Bristol City goal, and they were made to rue their missed chances by Korey Smith in the 92nd minute as he poked home the winning goal beyond the onrushing Romero.
Understandably, the Red Devils on Twitter were extremely frustrated by the final result after they had created plenty of chances to win the game, and they were quick to single out Marcus Rashford as one of their scapegoat’s for defeat.
The United supporters have largely pointed towards his inconsistency and poor decision making as two major reasons for their heavy criticism.
Here’s how the Manchester United fans reacted to the performance of Marcus Rashford…
Lol Rashford that’s a slight upgrade on Florent Sinama-Pongolle

Couldn’t agree more. Rashford’s decision making tonight was abysmal

I like Rashford and think he’ll probably become a decent player. But he was never this “Mbappe-level” talent you all made out and the media hyping him up as such has gone to his head. Big time. Struts around like he’s a big player. Yet regularly goes months w/o doing anything.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial? What was that gentlemen? Don't strut your show pony football without gritting your teeth and fighting with real desire. No heart, no fight, spoilt, overpaid brats. #MUFC
