Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino is a fantastic footballer, but goals aren’t his strong point despite him being a centre-forward.
The Reds are top of the Premier League by a huge 25 points – the biggest such margin in the history of the top flight – but the Brazil international has contributed with just eight goals, which is less than both wingers Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Timo Werner has been consistently linked with a move to Anfield (SPORT via Sport Witness), but it now seems the Anfield outfit are after another striker – Alexander Sorloth. The Norwegian scored just a single goal at Crystal Palace, but has 25 goals in 39 games for Trabzonspor in Turkey this term (Transfermarkt).
The Merseyside club’s fans have been reacting to the news in numbers on social media platform Twitter, and it is fair to say they are a bit perplexed at being linked with the 24-year-old, perhaps because of his woeful record at Palace. You can see some of the best comments to surface below.

Stay away from him. Fairly good. But will never fulfil the standards at LFC.
Erling Braut Haaland should certainly have been The target in January.— Jonas Tautra Vevatne (@JonasVevatne) April 13, 2020
I remember watching him at palace and he was possibly the worst striker I’ve ever seen in the premier league
