Southampton have been boosted ahead of their match against Brighton on Monday after it was confirmed that Danny Ings is back in training.

Since signing for £20m in 2019 after a season-long loan at St. Mary’s Stadium during the 2018/19 campaign, the England international has been in stunning form for the Saints. Last term, he netted 22 goals in 38 games for the south-coast outfit, and he already has five strikes in seven matches this time out.

His injury against Aston Villa, therefore, was a hammer blow for Ralph Hasenhuttl and co, and he has missed the last three matches. Now, though, there is some fantastic news for everyone involved at the club after it was confirmed he returned to training.
