The Football Transfer Tavern represented something of a funeral service last night, as the majority of customers were Manchester United fans.
We did have one Sunderland fan in but he had to escorted off the premises after Fabio Borini’s penalty in the Capital One Cup!
It has been a difficult time for our Red Devils regulars as they start to realise what the last two decades or so have been like for us fans who support the mere mortals!
At the final whistle yesterday, a discussion broke out between the ‘#Moyesin’ and the ‘#Moyesout’ groups. It was actually quite interesting and a worthwhile discussion – we don’t get many of them in the tavern.
One point raised was that Sir Alex Ferguson is undermining Moyes by coming to Manchester United’s games. Which is when, despite my landlord telling me never to get involved, I jumped in.
I’m sure Fergie coming along and watching isn’t even in Moyes’ top 50 problems, at the moment.
However, one punter said we were wrong, as Fergie wasn’t even at the Stadium of Light. He said that the former United gaffer was working in his local supermarket…ey?!
