The Daily Telegraph have our Tottenham Hotspur supporting regulars nodding their heads here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they read that Mauricio Pochettino has been lavishing praise on Christian Eriksen.

The Spurs boss was asked if his star man was on a par with the likes of Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and the Argentine tactician was clearly in a decisive mood.

Pochettino gushed: “Yes, so far. Christian has the possibility to get to the same level. His contribution so far is as great for the team.”

As one of our punters notes, with the eyes of not just England but the majority of the footballing world watching events at White Hart Lane come the North London derby, we think that a star performance from Eriksen could really cement his position as one of the best in the league and might even get Real Madrid looking at that re-initiating that special relationship once again!
