Most fans have already come to terms with the fact that Toby Alderweireld will be leaving North London this summer. Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy are going to have to cash in on the Belgian this summer as next year the 29-year-old will be able to leave the club for just £25 million. According to The Mirror, United have offered £55 million but the Lillywhite’s want more.

Reports everywhere have suggested that Tottenham will be prepared to sell Alderweireld for either £75 million or a player plus cash deal involving long-term Tottenham target, Anthony Martial. If Pochettino doesn’t get either of these options then he’ll be happy to keep his big Belgian defender on board and make the most out of him whilst he still has the chance. However, with over three weeks left of the transfer window, anything can happen.
Alderweireld only managed to make three Premier league starts in 2018 and he’s labelled that decision “unjustified” as he believes the on-going contract issues kept him out of the first-team. The ex-Southampton man has a contract at Spurs that’s set to run until next summer, however, Tottenham have the option to extend that by one year and if they do that it will trigger a £25 million release clause in the next transfer window. Losing the 29-year-old for such a small fee is criminal in the current climate of transfer fees and it would be a huge loss for Tottenham if they did.

£55m and martial!

If Martial isn't included no deal should ever be made. Will be very dissapointed in Spurs if they take a deal that doesn't involve Martial even if it's for a really good price

As you can see, the Spurs fans aren’t against selling Alderweireld, they just need to get the right price for their defender.
