There is unrest in South London due to the lack of transfer activity at Selhurst Park.
After a shocking start to the last campaign under Frank De Boer, Palace really managed to get everything together under Croydon-born Roy Hodgson. The Eagles improved and managed to finish a very respectable 11thplaced Premier League finish.
However, standing still takes you backwards in the Premier League. Aside from the much-needed strengthening between the sticks with Vicente Guaita joining form Getafe, there has been a worrying lack of news coming out of Selhurst Park.
There are several issues which need addressing. Primarily, the situation going forward, as was evident throughout the last campaign.
Palace front man Christian Benteke struck just three Premier League goals last season in a woeful campaign for the Belgian. Hodgson must improve his attacking options to take the club to the next level.
There is also a hole in the midfield since French veteran Yohan Cabaye has exited Selhurst Park, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s loan deal from Chelsea also coming to an end.
With that in mind, here is two stars Parish should sign to keep the Selhurst Park faithful happy….
Palace have been linked with the West Ham player for what feels like forever.
This would be a good signing for the Eagles. The club have very limited options out wide aside from talisman Wilfried Zaha, and set piece specialist Andros Townsend.
Antonio would be a good option out wide. He possesses pace, a good cross, and also chips in with his fair share of goals. A signing of Antonio’s quality would make Crystal Palace a less one-dimensional side.
His quality of delivery might also do much to solve the problem of misfiring frontman Christian Benteke, who scored just three Premier League goals last season, he might thrive off of Antonio’s fizzing crosses into the box
It is this kind of squad depth the Selhurst Park outfit need to push on. Injuries played far too crucial a role in the performances of the South Londoner’s last season
Ings has struggled with injury for a long time. It is easy to forget what an outstanding talent he was deemed to be when with Burnley.
He needs a new lease of life, and his signing would certainly appease the Eagles faithful. There is a strong perception that Christian Benteke’s finishing is not good enough, and Ings is a lethal finisher, when he is able to play.
Signings Ings would be considered something of a risk. However, the kind of goal scoring ability he showed to get his move to Liverpool could be rediscovered at Selhurst Park.
The ex-Burnley man is still just 25 years of age. If they can keep him fit, Palace would have a great player on their hands.
