Liverpool: Fans wax lyrical about Steven Gerrard

There are very few players who have created at legacy at Liverpool, or any other club for that matter, quite like Steven Gerrard.

The midfielder made his debut in 1998, and little did he or the club’s supporters know that he would become one of the very best players to ever pull on their shirt. Across a 17-year career at Anfield, he would make 710 appearances, scoring 184 goals along the way. Whilst he may not have picked up as many trophies as some of those from the 1970s and 1980s, he still got his hands on plenty of silverware, including the Champions League in 2005.

Now manager of Rangers, his contribution to the Merseyside outfit will never be forgotten, at least if a video that is doing the rounds on Twitter is anything to go by. The clip shows some of his greatest moments for the club, and it has led to many supporters waxing lyrical about him – one even described him as the “last of his kind,” alluding to the fact that he stayed at one club for so long.
