The Manchester City fans have been reacting to a story in the Daily Mail that claims Sao Paulo’s young versatile defender, Eder Militao is a summer transfer target for Pep Guardiola’s side. Guardiola is reportedly assessing options for the summer after the club’s Champions League heartbreak on Tuesday against Liverpool.

Militao fits the mould of a Pep Guardiola player to a tee. The Brazilian is comfortable in and out of possession, can play in a number of different positions and his potential is sky high. The Citizens may struggle to recruit the youngster though, with a price tag of only £20 million and a number of clubs across Europe showing interest in the Sao Paulo star, the Manchester side may struggle to convince the player join without the promise of first-team football.
Guardiola has been sniffing around the transfer market for a while now with many fans believing it’s just a matter of time before Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred join Pep’s Manchester juggernaut. The club are reportedly looking for a long-term Fernandinho replacement this summer, the Brazilian has played a pivotal role in the club’s successes in the current campaign and bringing in Militao and Fred would provide perfect cover as both can play the role with ease and Militao can drop in at the heart of defence or at full-back when needed.
