Strange transfer rumour emerges for Everton fans before deadline day

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been absolutely delighted about their clubs summer spend.

Indeed, the Toffees in the Tavern are excited about life under Ronald Koeman now he’s building a vibrant squad, though believe they could do with another striker.

With Romelu Lukaku having departed, neither Wayne Rooney, Sandro or Gylfi Sigurdsson provide the same physical up front, so our local Evertonians are hoping to see a new man arrive.

So, reports from the Daily Mail have proven rather interesting. In their LIVE Transfer Update blog (09:07) they claim the Goodison Park outfit are keen on a loan move for Watford star, Stefano Okaka.

The bulking Italian forward really impressed against Liverpool on the opening day of the season, though has been fairly hit and miss since arriving on these shores last year.

Despite Everton’s interest, the 28-year-old is said to be in talks over a move back to Serie A with Udinese and the punters propping up our bar aren’t certain about his potential arrival.

Though he could do a job for them, Okaka is barely the most inspiring signing.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Relying on Okaka to be the main central striker – regardless of the quality of his support acts – would be dangerous for an Everton side looking to truly challenge the top six.

Would be a good option off the bench, though not one to spearhead their new side.
