Though the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern enjoyed a good summer, they’ve been left with a rather sour taste in their mouths. 

Indeed, the Toffees in the Tavern had been desperate to see a new striker arrive to compliment the likes of Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramirez and Gylfi Sigurdsson in attack.

Well, that hasn’t happened, much to the annoyance of our punters.

So, despite spending big money over the course of the summer, many of our resident Evertonians believe Ronald Koeman hasn’t been given the kind of squad he would have wanted.

With that in mind, attentions of our punters are ALREADY turning to January and the New Year window in the hope Koeman is given further funds to plunder into what is hopefully another top six challenge.

Having said that, here are THREE targets Everton should consider moving for in 2018 to give their attack a focal point.

Stefano Okaka

Though the idea of having Okaka lead the line over the course of a whole season may not be the most inspiring, though he certainly can be a handful at times.

If he was brought in on a six-month loan, the Italian may up his game on a more consistent basis and, when he’s on form, would be a wonderful foil for the Toffees’ varied attackers.

Christian Benteke

While Benteke’s last stint at Liverpool didn’t go too well, perhaps a move to Everton would be a better natural fit for the big Belgian.

Indeed, few would doubt his quality when you play to his strengths and perhaps he could seek a move away from Crystal Palace, should their struggles continue into the New Year.

Moussa Dembele

One of the most exciting striking prospects in European football, the Frenchman would be an excellent addition to Everton’s cause.

While he’d be the biggest risk, if Celtic are out of the Champions Leauge by the start of 2018, perhaps the 21-year-old could be tempted elsewhere.

A player of incredible potential, he’d be a real coup for the Toffees.
