Sunderland fans are gutted after it was revealed on-loan forward Jordan Jones is a major doubt for the EFL Trophy final due to injury.

The Black Cats will travel to Wembley on Sunday to play Tranmere in the EFL Trophy final. They have defeated Carlisle United, Aston Villa U21, Oldham Athletic, Port Vale, Milton Keynes Dons and Lincoln City to get this far, and they will be hoping to pick up some silverware as they attempt to earn promotion to the Championship.

However, they may be without 26-year-old Jones for the clash. Since joining on a temporary basis from Rangers until the end of the season, he has scored twice and provided three assists in nine league matches (Transfermarkt) and has impressed. He will face a fitness ahead of the match.

The news was shared on Twitter by journalist James Hunter, and it attracted plenty of attention from the Sunderland supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
