Sunderland will send winger Aiden McGeady out on loan once again next season, according to a report by Northern Echo.

Finishing eighth in the League One table, Sunderland missed out on promotion to the Championship for a second successive season after being relegated from England’s second flight and the pressure will firmly be on next season to ensure they improve.
A whole host of first team players have departed the club already with first choice keeper Jon McLaughlin leaving for a move to Scottish Premiership side Rangers and the future of McGeady is now being discussed.
The 34-year-old attacker arrived at the Stadium of Light back in 2017 after a spell with Premier League side Everton prior to periods at Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End.
Having won the Scottish Premiership title on three occasions with Celtic during his career, some may have expected the Republic of Ireland international to return to Wearside this summer after his loan spell with Charlton came to an end.

However, Northern Echo reporter Scott Wilson claims that Sunderland will allow the winger to leave on loan if they do not receive a permanent offer from potentially interested clubs.
Since his arrival at Sunderland, McGeady has featured in no less than 98 games, scoring 27 goals and creating 13 in the process.
This seems a strange move from Sunderland, who appear to be more than willing to allow McGeady to move on.
The winger could surely still be of use to the club, having contributed towards 40 goals during 98 games, a record which is good considering that Sunderland have had many ups and downs, but it does feel as though Phil Parkinson is not keen on his services moving forward.
