One transfer rumour which has been prominent over the last few weeks is that of Mumba, who has been gaining a reputation due to his impressions for Sunderland’s academy sides.
Football Insider were among the first to claim that a deal of £350,000 had been agreed and it now looks like the transfer is set to be completed.

The youngster was pictured in Norwich alongside Arsenal youngster Matthew Dennis, who is also set to move to the Canaries.

18-year-old Mumba has largely been considered one of the top talents at the Academy of Light for some time, having made a step up to the first team on 10 occasions.

The image of Mumba in Norwich ahead of his move to the soon-to-be Championship club is unlikely to further upset Sunderland fans, who have known about the move for sometime now. It does however suggest that the transfer is now likely to happen.
It will likely act as a reminder that the club’s academy, recruitment and contract negotiations need to be looked at in depth this summer. This isn’t the first time they have lost a young prospect – Josh Maja was another who departed to join Bordeaux in 2019.
Realistically the club needs to get things right on the pitch and get back to the Championship in order to keep their top prospects in the future.
