Sunderland: Fans reacted to player’s absence in EFL team of the season so far

Sunderland fans have been left angered by Chris Maguire’s absence in the League One team of the season so far, via Whoscored.com and Sky Sports.

With a break in football due to recent events, it has given many media outlets a chance to look deeper into statistics and performances of teams and players.

AFC Wimbledon keeper Nathan Trott is between the sticks, having performed well during his loan spell from West Ham United.

The young keeper sits ahead of Luke’O’Nien (Sunderland), Michael Ihiekwe (Rotherham), Robert Dickie (Oxford) and Joe Jacobson (Wycombe).

In the middle of the park, James Henry (Oxford), Liam Walsh (Coventry), Daniel Barlaser (Rotherham) and Ronan Curtis (Portsmouth), all gain a place. 15 goal striker Armand Gnanduillet makes it into the front two, featuring alongside Ivan Toney, who has netted an impressive 24 league goals this term.

One absence from the side is Maguire, despite the Scotsman averaging 2.3 key passes per game this season.
