Sunderland have managed to produce a number of talented players through their youth academy over the years, but it appears another one could be about to fly the nest.
According to a report by The Sun, Morten Spencer is believed to be on the verge of becoming a Manchester City player.
The 14-year-old has already represented England at the youth level and appears to have a bright future ahead of him.
Spencer is a versatile attacker, as he can operate on the left wing or just behind the front line as an attacking midfielder.
It is understood Sunderland will receive around £200,000 in compensation for the teenager, whilst they are keen to receive a percentage of any future transfer fee spent on the player.
The Verdict:

Going based on the report, it would appear that Spencer has a bright future in the game, especially considering that Manchester City are interested in him.
Still only 14-years-old, it will be a while before the teenager gets any regular senior minutes, although it will come as a blow to a club like Sunderland.
The Black Cats, who are fighting hard to win promotion from League One back to the Championship, have seen a number of their talented youngsters leave the club in the early stages of their career and will be disappointed to lose another promising talent.
