Arsene Wenger must have realised something on Saturday lunch time as he saw his Arsenal team come away from Manchester United with a very fortunate point indeed.
That something must have been that the Gunners still need a world class forward to get them out of trouble when their backs are against the wall.
In fact, it’s all we can do to shut the Emirates faithful propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern up about how much they need a maruqee marksman.
Of course, Olivier Giroud came on and rescued a point but no-one can argue he is world class and so the point remains true.
Alexis Sanchez is top drawer, undoubtedly, but as a centre-forward, he has sometimes been nullified in not being able to drop deep and exploit the spaces that appear on the pitch, he’s had to lead the line and get himself into tighter gaps.
There can be no doubt, then, that Arsenal need a bonafide forward if they are to win the title this season and our landlord reckons one of these four could just allow them to do that…
Alexandre Lacazette

Lacazette, whilst able to play on the wings, is predominantly a forward and a pretty handy one at that.
The Frenchman leads the line impeccably well for Lyon and will surely move on from the club before his best days are behind him.
He’s the kind of forward Arsenal are crying out for and so a bid just has to be made in January to test his, and his club’s, resolve.
Daniel Sturridge

Sturridge is another world class finisher and despite Liverpool knowing that, he can’t get into their team.
The problem is, then, with pretty much anyone that’s seen him play knowing he could be a leading light elsewhere, it’s going to be pretty hard to stop him going if a bid comes in.
Arsenal would be putting the cat well and truly amongst the pigeons with a bid here but would surely benefit from doing so.
Andrea Belotti

Belotti is a younger forward and our landlord is including him because, despite him not being world class, he’s certainly on his way to being so and it would allow Wenger to persist in his ways with Sanchez if he really has to.
The Italian has been on fire for Torino for a considerable amount of time and looks the real deal so it’s only a matter of time before he joins one of Europe’s elite.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The man from Gabon is one of the best around and you’d feel that they could start engraving Arsenal’s name on the Premier League trophy if they were to prise him from Dortmund.
He’d cost a real chunk of money but would be worth every penny and Arsenal fans would much rather see that kind of outlay for him than the money that was spent on the ineffectual Lucas Perez.
