Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are realising they’re going to have to be more patient than they thought at first with their team this season.

After feeling confident the good times were going to be back at Old Trafford this season with the likes of Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba arriving, the Red Devils faithful have been brought back down to Earth a number of times already this campaign with some sobering displays.

The men in red were humbled at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea whilst Manchester City taught them a lesson on their own turf leaving many to think, despite the millions splurged in the summer, that their squad still needs work before it can challenge for the title.

Our landlord agrees and thinks Mourinho should try and get at least one of the following four strikers to the club…

Alvaro Morata

Morata is a top player but he still sees regular game time limited at Real Madrid despite probably thinking he would get more this season.

The Spaniard has seen the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale become more central players whilst Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio have broken through to leave him struggling for games. United simply must act.

Domenico Berardi

Berardi is a very exciting young player and many in Italy feel that he could be one of their future greats for the national team.

He can play down the middle or on the right and that may interest Mourinho given that he is having to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front, too.

Berardi can play now, he’s not just one for the future, and that’s why he should be of interest.

Antoine Griezmann

There’s a growing feeling in the Football Transfer Tavern that Atletico Madrid may not be able to keep pace at the top of La Liga this season.

What they’ve done over the last few years has been incredible but, despite trying to give the Vicente Calderon a good send off, they are nine points off of city rivals Real in the table and just don’t seem to have that same intensity in their play.

Their star man Griezmann could become available, then, and United should be first in the queue.

Munir

Munir is a very exciting young player that Barcelona have available to them but he’s currently been sent out on loan to Valencia what with Messi, Neymar and Suarez knocking around the Nou Camp.

If United could try and get Valencia to let him go early and tempt Barcelona with a big bid for a permanent move, they’d be getting one of the brightest players in Europe walking through the Old Trafford doors.
