Arsenal will be looking to continue their fine form in Dublin after a very strong pre-season tour of Singapore. Indeed, with almost a full-strength squad at Unai Emery’s disposal, they’ll be looking to secure another victory against Chelsea.
The Gunners look a force to be reckoned with this season as they continue to impress under Unai Emery, with a number of youngsters staking a claim. Although, with a small amount of time left before the start of the new campaign, the Spaniard will be hoping that his side can gather some momentum.
Next up for Arsenal is a game with fellow Premier League side Chelsea. It will be very interesting to see how the Gunners perform against a strong Chelsea side that will also be looking to challenge for the title in the new campaign. Emery’s side will need to keep the ball moving by playing their usual fluent passing game, as goals came thick and fast in their last outing.
Therefore having taken Emery’s selection from the last game into consideration, we’ve come up with a team that we think the Spaniard could line up with against Chelsea.

ARSENAL’S POTENTIAL TEAM VS CHELSEA
We’ve gone with a 4-2-3-1 formation, as that is the formation that Emery has looked to make use of during pre-season thus far. This allows the Gunners to get the most of their wide men to create space for Mesut Ozil in the middle, with Aaron Ramsey and Matteo Guendouzi protecting the defence against what is likely to be a strong Chelsea lineup.
Arsenal will look to give Bernd Leno another game in-between the sticks as he continues to stake his claim as the club’s first choice goalkeeper.
In defence, Hector Bellerin will slot in at right-back and Sead Kolasinac will operate on the opposite flank, hoping to keep Chelsea’s dangerous wingers at bay. Meanwhile, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding will form a partnership at the heart of the defence. Indeed, after witnessing the Englishman’s goal and performance in the last game, he definitely deserves a starting place in the side.
Aaron Ramsey and the impressive Matteo Guendouzi will operate in front of the defence, with the Blues being very dominant through the middle of the park, so having Ramsey’s eye for a pass and Guendouzi’s defensive instincts will balance things out nicely.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be looking to use his pace to terrorize the Blues defensive line, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan will work his way into promising positions to get deliveries into the box. So, this will leave plenty of room for Mesut Ozil to work in, with a point to prove after a rather disastrous World Cup.
Lastly, Alexandre Lacazette managed to find the back of the net last time out as he seems to be finding his feet at the perfect time. So, Emery will look to give him another chance at the pinnacle of the attack to get even more minutes under his belt and another couple of goals if he’s lucky.
