Chelsea will be looking to build on their momentum against fellow Premier League side Arsenal at the Aviva Stadium after beating Inter Milan on penalties last time out. Indeed, with plenty of places in the starting XI up for grabs, it will be interesting to see who rises above the rest.
The Blues will be looking to forget about the disasters of last season as they go on in search of success under Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge. And, no better test than pre-season to see the Italian’s plans take centre stage, with aims of challenging for the Premier League title.
Next up for Chelsea is a game with fellow Premier League side Arsenal. It will be interesting to see how Maurizio Sarri’s Blues perform against a fellow title challenger, with bragging rights up for grabs.
Therefore, having taken Sarri’s selection from the last game into consideration, we’ve come up with a team that we think the Italian could line up with against Arsenal.

CHELSEA’S POTENTIAL TEAM VS ARSENAL
We’ve gone with a 4-3-3 formation, as that is the formation that Sarri has looked to make use of during pre-season thus far. The Blues have enjoyed success out wide so far during pre-season, so they’ll look to explore that avenue once again at the Aviva Stadium. But, with Arsenal posing a threat in the final third, the Blues will need to keep their shape and a solidity for the full 90 minutes.

The Blues may look to give Marcin Bulka another chance in goal following his performance in their last outing against Italian giants Inter Milan.
In defence, Chelsea will look to keep the Gunners’ dangerous attackers at bay by deploying Cesar Azpilicueta on the right-hand side of defence, with Marcus Alonso on the opposite flank. Meanwhile, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen will form a partnership at the heart of the defence, with Sarri possibly turning to these two this season.
Jorginho has been sensational since joining this summer and Sarri will be relying on him to steer the ship once again against the Gunners. The Brazilian will play alongside Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko, with the latter needing to prove himself after producing a nervy performance last time out.
The Blues’ front line will consist of Pedro, Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Indeed, Alvaro Morata has been linked with a move away all summer, so Sarri will be keen to see how Abraham gets on against a fellow Premier League side ahead of the new campaign. Hudson-Odoi has arguably already done enough to earn himself a place in the first-team but he faces his most difficult test yet against the Gunners.
