Everton punters in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with reports suggesting Michael Keane is inching towards a summer switch to Goodison Park.
Sky Sports alleged earlier this week that the 24-year-old will leave current employers Burnley this summer, following a season which has seen him earn widespread acclaim and pick up his first two caps for the England national team.

The Telegraph recenty mooted Tottenham Hotspur as potential summer suitors and The Times have documented their interest once again, whilst naming Manchester City and Manchester United as rivals in the race for Keane’s signature.
But according to the latter publication, Everton are currently the favourites to sign the former Red Devils youngster this summer and have already spoken to Burnley about a potential transfer to Merseyside – suggesting they’re well on their way to beating United and Spurs to Keane’s services.
The Toffees also have the advantage of virtually guaranteeing Keane first team football. Current centre-backs Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka are both the wrong side of 30, whilst the England international’s contract is due to expire at the end of next season.
Everton fans in the Tavern simply can’t wait to see Keane donning their blue jersey next season, whilst Spurs and United fans are gutted that their clubs look set to miss out!
