Talks: Liverpool hold discussions with attacker’s agents over possible Anfield switch

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping they can get a number of deals across the line this summer as they look to make themselves more competitive next season.

Jurgen Klopp has already been busy working hard with their recruitment drive, having signed the likes of Fabinho and Naby Keita, although it appears that the club have hit a huge roadblock when it comes to Nabil Fekir.

The Reds are also thought to be in the market for a goalkeeper, but it appears that they have already been in advanced talks to add another attacker to the side, with reports suggesting that Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri is of interest.

According to Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones, representatives of the Switzerland international met with the Anfield outfit on Friday about a possible move to Merseyside, amid claims that he has a £12million release clause, following the Potters’ relegation from the Premier League.

Landlord’s Verdict

Shaqiri was always going to be on the radar of Premier League sides following Stoke’s relegation and it appears Liverpool are trying to beat everyone in the race for him.

The Swiss star has played at the highest level already, having played for the likes of Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, and has proved he belongs in the top-flight. The 26-year-old would be a solid addition to an already attack-heavy Liverpool side and would be able to give Klopp the quality and depth he is looking to add to his squad.
