Glasgow Rangers captain James Tavernier has come a long way over the last few months at Ibrox.
The 29-year-old right-back has been a fantastic stalwart for the Gers, signing in 2015 and remaining with them ever since. However, in the past, he has come under plenty of criticism from the club’s supporters, with him often being picked out as a problem.

This term, though, he has shown just how important he is to the 54-time Scottish champions. He has managed ten goals and six assists in all competitions, appearing in all but two games as the Gers remain unbeaten. His career tally north of the border now stands at 56 goals and 80 assists in just 261 games – it is easy to forget he is just a defender.

On Saturday, it was his birthday, and as a result the club’s official Twitter account wished him a happy birthday. This led to plenty of responses from the Gers supporters, who were full of praise for Tavernier.
Let’s see what they had to say about Tavernier below
Should be a national holiday really https://t.co/nI60ui4kSR
