Our Liverpool and Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern always love ripping into one another and the Romelu Lukaku saga has certainly provided the Reds with ammo.
Indeed, neither set of fans needs that much of invitation to let the abuse fly and with Lukaku seemingly not wanting to sign a new deal at Goodison Park, our Reds punters have had a field day.
It’s been widely reported by the likes of Sky Sports that the Belgian has told the Toffees he now does not want to sign a new contract with the club and so where they go from now remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, always one to get involved with Merseyside based japery, Jamie Carragher has waded in by claiming that he was the one to spark Lukaku’s decision when he visited the club’s training ground with Sky Sports recently.
Naturally, then, plenty have had something to say in light of the Liverpool legend’s words and so here’s a collection of the best:
