The 2 Man City hidden gems you seriously need to keep and eye on ahead of the new season

Manchester City fans are demanding a strong showing in the transfer market from their side and if the signings they have made is anything to go by, everyone in the Transfer Tavern can expect a busy summer from the Citizens in this window.

The Portuguese playmaker, Bernardo Silva, has already arrived through the doors of the Etihad Stadium and he has been joined by Brazilian goalkeeper, Ederson, as City look to strengthen their side in time for the new season

Whilst these signings are positive steps for Manchester City, our landlord believes that Pep Guardiola should be looking within his academy at the next big star. Especially given that he was a manager that gave his younger players a chance last season.

The City fans in the Tavern agree with this statement however they believe the club should really be looking to find quality and if that is in their academy, then these players deserve a chance within the first team. The real die hard fans in the Tavern know the club inside out and they are throwing around names they believe people should be keeping an eye out for ahead of the new season.

Our landlord has joined in the debate and he has also been speculating over which young players will really make an impact for City next season. He has come up with some interesting names and has not been shy to suggest that Guardiola throw them into his starting XI in pre-season to see if they have what it takes in the Premier League.

With that said, let’s take a look at the two youngsters that should get a chance at City next season…

Pablo Maffeo

With both Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna leaving the Etihad Stadium, our landlord has suggested the 19-year-old right back could be the answer to City’s full back problems.

Maffeo spent last season out on loan at Girona FC in the Spanish second tier and with Pep Guardiola looking to give youngsters an opportunity in his first team squad, there is an opening for a right back such as Maffeo within the City side.

Angeliño

Whilst Maffeo is penned in to maybe stake his claim at right back, there is no doubt that Angeliño is looking to stake his claim for the left back position in the Manchester City starting line up.

Another Spaniard, Angeliño spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Mallorca and with Gael Clichy being released by the club this summer – there could well be a spot for him in the City line up.

At 20-years-old, the view of our landlord is that Angeliño is ready to stake his claim at City and in doing this, he may just be someone punters in the Tavern keep an eye on in this coming season.
