It’s been a poor season for Leeds United down in the Championship who have suffered late heartbreak in their pursuit of the Premier League this campaign!
After coming back to draw 3-3 with Norwich City this weekend, the Whites are now unlikely to make the play-offs because of their poorer goal-difference, something that’s left the Whites fans here in the Tavern in absolute disarray!
But there’s one talented young defender who has played seriously well when given the chance this season and that’s £4.25m-rated left-back Charlie Taylor.
He hasn’t had as much first-team football as he might have liked this campaign, mainly due to the good form we’ve seen from Gaetano Beradi in recent weeks but in terms of raw quality, he’s one of the best at Elland Road right now.
But with the Whites set for another campaign of second-tier football, the 23-year-old might be well thinking about a move to the Premier League if the opportunity does arise over the summer months.
He’s an attacking defender who has absolutely no problem getting forward and supporting the attackers in the Leeds United ranks. Time is on his side and with James Milner’s performances dropping off in recent weeks, you’ve got to wonder whether Jurgen Klopp might be thinking about bringing in a new left-back over the summer months.
The Reds fans lining the bar here in the Tavern want a more experienced option in to take the team forward but all things considered, Taylor is a young player who has the potential to do seriously well in the first-team in the coming years!
