Our resident Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been confident of a Premier League title win for some time this season.
The Blues have seen the rest of their title challengers fall by the way-side to leave them with a pretty clear shot at lifting the trophy in May.
In fact, a win could come sooner than that if they keep up their relentless march and the other sides behind them drop more points with Man City closest – a good eight points behind.
It looks like it’s a matter of when and not if in terms of Chelsea winning the league, then, and so our landlord has decided to take a look at where the club can take those all important steps to winning the title.
That in mind, then, here are the five games the club must target to see them on their way to the trophy…
Chelsea v Swansea 25/02/17

Swansea have improved greatly under Paul Clement but they’ll have to go some to beat Chelsea in the form they’re in at home.
The Blues don’t lose games like this normally and they’ve been certainly ruthless against the so-called smaller clubs this time around. The Swans are a good team once again but the Blues should have too much class when we return to league engagements in under two week’s time.
Chelsea v Watford 13/03/17

Watford are a funny old side to predict but whereas Arsenal have it in them to lose a home game against the Hornets, Chelsea do not – and that’s why they should be champions.
Walter Mazzarri and his men are going to be ready to make it tough and will take heart from their win at the Emirates but Antonio Conte’s men are so professional. This should be nothing but a win as we head towards the final couple of months of the season, then.
Chelsea v Crystal Palace 01/04/17

If Palace are still in the form they are in at the moment two things are certain.
One, that they’ll be going into the Championship and, two, Chelsea are going to batter them. Even if Sam Allardyce does have them in better shape by this point the Blues are going to be very close to the trophy, you’d imagine, and will surely be firing on all cylinders for this one.
Chelsea v Man City 05/04/17

Man City are doing their very best to keep the race alive even though it’s already looking pretty much done.
If they can keep that up over the next month or so this game could be huge and certainly represents the chance for Chelsea to kill things off once and for all. In front of their own crowd against a City side that has been suspect at the back this should be enough to see them take a huge win.
Bournemouth v Chelsea 08/04/17

This could cap off a very important week in the title race if Chelsea can win all three starting against Palace.
The Cherries are looking worryingly like that side that gets drawn into the relegation battle at the moment and by this game we’ll know exactly if that is the case. Eddie Howe’s men will come out and play against the Blues and that should be more than enough for Conte’s men to get another three points.
