It’s been a poor season for Swansea City down at the bottom of the Premier League whilst for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp still has work to do to bring Champions League football to Anfield next season!
The Reds fans lining the bar here in the Tavern haven’t been best pleased with some results in recent weeks and you can understand their concerns too, with European football the only thing left that can really define the success of their season!
But one of the biggest concerns down at Anfield for the whole campaign has been the back-four and particularly, the quality of the centre-backs that are currently on the books at Anfield.
Our Liverpool-mad barman hasn’t been at all impressed with the performances on display by Dejan Lovren this season and you can understand his frustrations- he’s been seriously poor at times.
That’s why a new signing has been tipped by the supporters here in the pub and one name that’s been mooted is Swansea City’s £7.65million-rated centre-back Federico Fernandez.
The Argentine international has been seriously good for the Swansea this campaign despite their recent struggles at the bottom of the table and you can see why he’s the sort of player who would really fit the bill at Anfield.
Quick, strong and intelligent, we saw some fantastic stuff from the former Napoli man during the game against United on Sunday afternoon and he’s a player they should certainly be keeping an eye on going forward.
Value for money-wise, he’d be a steal and this Lovren situation is one that won’t go away, unless Klopp addresses it.
