The Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been a happy bunch this season, and have been regularly found partying in the bar at weekends following positive results.
Their excellent form has seen the team make a real fist of winning the Premier League and the 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, closed the gap on Leicester at the top of the league to two points.
Should Spurs fail to win the league this season, boss Mauricio Pochettino will no doubt try and secure the right summer signings to ensure that this season isn’t a flash in the pan, making the club into a force next season too.
One of the major summer signings Spurs are said to be lining up is Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, and if Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League, the move could be a realistic one.
Here TT writer Lee Clarke takes a look at a dream Tottenham Hotspur eleven, with the inclusion of Henderson in the team……

GK – Hugo Lloris
The French custodian is one of the top players in the world in his position, and keeping hold of him is likely to be much easier for Spurs once they have Champions League football.
Speculation has linked him with a move away from White Hart Lane previously but that looks unlikely now, and Lloris could be a big player for Spurs for years to come.
Lloris has continued to improve during this season and his fine performances have propelled Spurs into contention for their first Premier League title.
RB – Kyle Walker
At 25-years-old Walker still has so much more to offer the Tottenham Hotspur team, and the next couple of years must be seen as make or break for the Sheffield-born player.
Walker has stepped up his game amid competition from summer signing Kieran Trippier, and has worked hard to get back into the hearts of the Spurs faithful, after a difficult period of poor form.
The back line at Spurs has been remarkable this season and it is difficult to imagine Mauricio Pochettino breaking that up next season.
CB – Toby Alderweireld
The Belgian central defender is one of the signings of the season for Spurs, and his contribution to the team has seen them become one of the best defensive teams in the division.
The partnership he has formed with fellow countryman Jan Vertonghen was superb during the first half of the season, but injury to the 28-year-old has seen an equally robust partnership with Kevin Winner come to fruition.
Alderweireld clearly has a very bright future in the game and Spurs will be hopeful that he will remain at White Hart Lane for many years to come.
CB – Jan Vertonghen
The imposing Belgian was one of the shining lights for Spurs during the first half of the season, before a cruel injury put an end to his good form.
Spurs fans must be relishing the prospect of Vertonghen and Alderweireld continuing their partnership, once he returns from injury and many will be hoping he can return for some of the run in this season.
The 28-year-old has proved his critics wrong this season and he will be looking forward to getting back out onto the pitch, following his injury.
LB – Ben Davies
Spurs signed the highly-rated left-back from Swansea City in 2014 as one for the future and after a string of injury issues, the club will now be hoping he can look towards holding down a first-team place.
Danny Rose’s form has meant a peripheral part for the youngster this term, but I can’t help but feel Spurs still see Davies as the club’s left-back for many years to come.
In Rose and the Wales international, Spurs are well stocked on the left-hand side of defence and have two of the brightest young left-backs in the country.
DM – Jordan Henderson
Tottenham have been linked with a £25 million move for the Liverpool captain during the summer and I believe they will see him as a holding midfielder.
Whilst the club have lots of youthfulness in the middle of the park they are lacking someone with a bit of experience who can hold the ball up
Henderson can work that role naturally and would be a really big signing for the club should they be able to pull the deal off.
CM – Dele Alli
Alli has been a remarkable signing for Spurs, after his arrival from Milton Keynes Dons, where he played football in League One last season.
The youngster has taken the Premier League by storm this season, weighing in with seven goals over the course of the campaign.
Alli is still learning his trade in the top flight but there is little doubt that he is set for a bright future for both Tottenham and England in years to come.
CM – Youri Tielemans
The Belgian starlet has been heavily linked with Tottenham over recent weeks and he certainly fits the bill of a Spurs signing.
Like Alli, the central midfielder is a young star for the future and at 18-years-old, Spurs could secure the player now and tie him down, ahead of his very best years.
A youthful central midfield duo would work wonders with Henderson providing the steel in a slightly deeper role. This midfield, if given time to work, could be the envy of the Premier League.
AM – Christian Eriksen
An integral part of the midfield will be the top end of the diamond and Danish maestro Eriksen will thrive as part of this team.
The little wizard will be able to buzz around and act as the provider for the striking duo, whilst causing havoc for the opposition defensive midfielder in the process.
The beauty of the 24-year-old is that he can play in a number of positions in the final third and with his presence in the side, it would allow Spurs to play in a number of different ways.
ST – Harry Kane
Kane has netted 19 goals for Spurs this season and his form has been crucial to the club’s push towards the Premier League title.
The England striker has now established himself as one of the most feared marksmen in the country, if not the world, and Champions League football will do a lot to fight off the pressure of other clubs trying to sign him.
Still only 22-years-old, Kane has a bright future ahead of him and Spurs will be hoping that Kane will stick around for many years to come.
ST – Alvaro Morata
The Juventus striker looks set to depart the Old Lady in the summer and a move to the Premier League looks set to be on the cards.
Morata netted for Juve in the Champions League final last season in a defeat against Barcelona and in recent months he has been linked with a move to Spurs.
The signing of Morata would represent a real coup for the North London-based club and would take some of the goal scoring pressure away from Harry Kane.
