‘The next Modric’ - Liverpool fans want Klopp to land midfield ace

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are still awaiting another major signing or two this summer. It has been a fantastic period for the Reds, and now Jurgen Klopp must capitalise on that.

They kicked the summer off fantastically with the capture of Fabinho, but since then, it’s all gone quiet.

However, Liverpool fans over on Reddit are encouraging the club to land one of Europe’s brightest talents.

According to Cope, citing Paco Gonzalez, Real Madrid ace Mateo Kovacic has asked Real Madrid to let him leave the club. Los Blancos have apparently denied his request, but his desire to be a key figure means that this is unlikely to go away easily.

Unsurprisingly, then, the Liverpool fans over on Reddit are eager for their club to do a deal for the 24-year-old, who is rated at £27 million by Transfer Markt.

A talented creative midfielder, Kovacic is one of Europe’s most exciting players, owing to his time in Spain and previously at Inter Milan. He’s got bags of technical ability, but he’s not yet a regular first team starter at Real Madrid. Naturally, then, a move to Liverpool may make sense – even if Real Madrid aren’t willing to allow it.
