The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see the back of them…

Antonio Conte has enjoyed an excellent few weeks at Chelsea since switching to a 3-4-3 – but his fine performances have come with one caveat.

His switch in-formation has cemented his first-choice XI – and whilst this has afforded a group of 11 players regular game time; others have fallen by the wayside.

Several of Chelsea’s fringe players have seen their game time diminish in recent weeks, and that simply isn’t good enough for them nor is it good enough for Chelsea – and a departure is undoubtedly the best course of action.

With that said, 2 Chelsea fringe players need to be offloaded very soon…

 Oscar

The most obvious casualty of Antonio Conte’s formation switch has been Oscar.

The Brazilian playmaker is a natural number 10 – and that position has been phased out under Conte.

The formation prefers pacey wingers in the place of technical central midfielders – and Oscar does not have the defensive prowess to sit in front of the defence.

In truth, Oscar has disappointed in recent years; and a sale has been coming for a while.

He had potential, but he has failed to develop – and his inability to play each week will only hurt him and Chelsea going forward.

Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas is another player that has been dropped almost entirely by Antonio Conte – and much like Oscar, it has everything to do with a formation switch.

He is not mobile enough to play defensively or offensively in the system – and a departure simply makes sense.

The Spaniard is no longer a youngster – and sitting on the bench isn’t helping him or Chelsea.

He is still a well-regarded player, though – and the funds brought forward by his sale could allow Antonio Conte to invest heavily with regards to incoming players.
