The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are loving life under Antonio Conte…
The Italian boss has performed brilliantly over the last few weeks, and has led Chelsea into a sustained period of real progression.
There is a tangible excitement amongst the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern, with many of the punters in attendance feeling confident that the Blues can mount a title challenge this season.
Chelsea are undoubtedly looking like a real team – but the Blues are far from the complete package. Conte needs to add a few more strings to his bow – and there are a few players that could really push the Blues over the line.
With that said, these 2 January signings would take Chelsea to the next level…
Fabinho

Fabinho is a player that could prove to be of real use to Antonio Conte this season.
Chelsea are undoubtedly lacking a bit of depth on the right hand side, with an over-reliance on Victor Moses a very real problem for Conte – and Fabinho would provide some real depth down that flank.
He is an experienced right wing-back, and he would ensure that Conte has more than one option on that side of the pitch.
What’s more, the Brazilian is versatile – and can also play across the midfield for Conte.
He would plug a few gaps in the Chelsea first team.
Antonio Rudiger

Chelsea are undoubtedly looking out for defensive depth – and Rudiger could be the perfect man for that job.
John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic look likely to leave the club at the end of the season, whilst Gary Cahill’s form can often be inconsistent – and these issues could come back to haunt Conte as the season progresses.
Rudiger is undoubtedly one of the best defenders in Europe, and he could form a deadly partnership alongside the likes of Azpilicueta and David Luiz.
He is that upper tier of player that could take Chelsea to the next level.
