Liverpool have got one of the most exciting squads in the league right now and our resident Reds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are enjoying every minute of watching them…

The Anfield club have been in scintillating form this season and are currently top of the league with 26 points ahead of Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal in what’s shaping up to be a very close title race.

Jurgen Klopp has to be praised for the way he has assembled the side because whilst he was active in the transfer market, he didn’t sign what you’d call a big name – and that left many wondering whether the Reds could compete.

They’ve been left in no doubt so far, though. The German’s squad management has been exemplary and our landlord reckons there’ll be some more of that in the near future, with regards to outgoings – with these two possibly leaving…

Tiago Ilori

Ilori just hasn’t shown he’s good enough for Liverpool and should be let go.

He’s spent spells on loan with the likes of Aston Villa and not succeeded so it’s likely he’ll be playing at a lower level than the Premier League once he departs.

It’s hard to believe he is still in the squad at the moment given his lack of playing time, but he is – perhaps not for much longer, though.

Mamadou Sakho

Sakho was a key player last season but a lot has happened since then and now it’s more than likely he’ll be gone from the squad.

There’s been a clear breakdown in the relationship between Jurgen Klopp and the Frenchman and so, to avoid creating squad disharmony, it’s surely best that he moves on.

Plenty of clubs will be interested in him, though, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find new employers.
