Our Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are waiting in anticipation for this summer’s transfer window as they expect a huge overhaul of the City squad from Pep Guardiola.

With many rumours flying around, such as a move for Bourissa Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, could we see a much-changed Manchester City line up starting the 2017/18 season? Our landlord believes so and even though the Citizens are still in with a chance in the Champions League and FA Cup, it could be said that the rest of the season is an audition for players to work their way into Guardiola’s plans for next season – especially with the league table showing Chelsea so far ahead of the chasing pack.

It is fair to say that there is a lot of mutual agreement with our landlord from the resident Citizen fans in the Tavern and there have been some strong views put across in recent times over the performance of Guardiola’s men this year – with many of the City fans listing who they would like to see leave the Etihad in the summer.

With that said, here are the TWO most popular names that come across when discussing who may be leaving City…

Sergio Aguero

An obvious name to be pulled out the hat if you listen to the many rumours circulating around the Etihad, it is a common opinion here in the Transfer Tavern that Aguero could well be on his way from City in the summer.

The constant rumours of signing Aubameyang paired with the recent rise of Gabriel Jesus have done nothing to quash the suggestions in the Tavern, which would see a truly world class striker leave Manchester City and our landlord believes that Aguero should leave the Etihad to rediscover his form, believing that the Argentine can flourish within any club in world football.

With that said, Guardiola will not want to sell his main striker but it may be the best deal for the club and for the player himself.

Fabian Delph

It is fair to say that Delph has not been getting the playing time he would have liked since he returned from injury and some rumours are circulating that the England international may well be converted into a left back by Pep Guardiola.

Our landlord believes that Delph is too good a centre midfielder to warrant a change of position and thinks that he could easily ply his trade elsewhere. Delph himself has said he is not thinking about leaving City but with his current situation at the Etihad, we could well see him in at a different club at the start of next season.

He could be a star for a team lower down in the table.
