These 2 Man United youngsters would be better off leaving ASAP – agreed?

Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern never want any of their younger players to leave the club but sometimes, it just makes sense.

With United’s recent big spending in a bid to bring back the glory years many of our punters enjoyed during the Sir Alex Ferguson era, many of the youth players have maybe not been given the opportunities they normally would have been in distant years. Unlike Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard who have become United regulars over the seasons, the Red Devils have littered around the rest of their talent to grow at other clubs.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, many of the fringe young players who maybe aren’t getting the game time they want or they’ve simply not made an impression enough on boss Jose Mourinho to warrant breaking into the first team.

Surely, those in question will be looking to move on to a team that can offer them what they want.

With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at a couple of players that could see the Old Trafford exit door…

Luke Shaw

Despite his recent form improving, Shaw’s overall United career has largely been a disappointment owing to host of bad luck with injuries and generally poor consistency over the past few seasons.

United may look to try and recoup some of the money they splashed out on the former Southampton left-back before he could leave for free in the summer, after a difficult time of things under Mourinho himself. Clearly a talent, he may have to go elsewhere to fulfil his potential and maybe a fresh start would reignite his career on both a club and country level.

James Wilson

The United academy youngster is looking for another loan move to re-ignite his United career, but after a major injury he seems to have missed the boat to impress Mourinho and he may well cut his losses and move on to forge a career elsewhere with the Championship a likely destination.

Wilson will find it hard to dislodge any of the front men at the moment and with the returning Zlatan you can only see more bench time for the young man as he falls down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
