Gareth Bale’s future is a very interesting topic for Man Utd fans at present. According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are in advanced talks to land the Welsh attacker in a move that would be huge in the context of the season.
Man Utd need further attacking improvements, that’s for sure, and in terms of Jose Mourinho’s options, Bale’s arrival would make things far easier for him.
However, the Welshman’s arrival wouldn’t only be of benefit to Mourinho and Man Utd as a collective. Indeed, there are some individuals that should be delighted about the prospect of him joining the club, as he could have a direct impact on them next season.
The 28-year-old is a player that brings a lot of qualities, and they could be of huge use to a few individuals. But who would be the biggest benefactors of a move? Let’s take a look…
Romelu Lukaku is Man Utd’s main man going forward, and the arrival of Bale would completely change things for him.
Granted, he’s proven his worth as a natural finisher with his feet over the years, but his height and natural frame have always made him the ideal target man. However, at Man Utd, he hasn’t had the service to make the most of that.
With Bale in the team, though, that would be different.
He thrives when running down the wings and crossing the ball in, and so someone like Lukaku would be in dreamland if he’s able to latch onto crosses with his head.
Paul Pogba is the heartbeat of the Man Utd first team, and the arrival of Bale would change a lot for him.
First and foremost, it would give him a fantastic outlet for his passing. Pogba’s often struggled to make an impact with his passing given the lack of quality ahead of him. Bale, meanwhile, thrives off of passing and through balls. Thus, collectively, they could be a match made in heaven.
Beyond that, the simple fact of another top class attacker coming in will give Pogba another player to feed off of going forward.
