Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still harbouring hopes of winning the league this season – even though they know next season is probably more likely.

A poor run of form earlier on in the year has left them playing catch up and whilst they have good players and a top manager, so do the other five title contenders in front of them.

For many here by the bar, then, attention is beginning to turn to 2017/18 and, according to The Sun, the club itself is eyeing potential moves in the next summer window already.

According to the report, United want to bring in Bernardo Silva from Monaco as their next marquee name as the Jose Mourinho revolution continues but our landlord doesn’t see it ending there.

With that in mind, then, here are two more summer signings our landlord reckons could go through at Old Trafford…

Antoine Griezmann

This one has been discussed in the Transfer Tavern at great length in recent times and it’s small wonder why.

The Frenchman is absolutely world class and would be another superb star for United to add to their portfolio. The likes of Don Balon in Spain reckon this one could be on and our landlord reckons such a move in the summer would make United 2017/18 title favourites.

Victor Lindelof

This one appears to be off for now but there’s no reason why it won’t be back on in the summer.

Lindelof is one of the highest rated young defenders in Europe at the moment and so will surely move on from Benfica at some point. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a fan of him, too, and so that could come into play as well as United’s pull if and when a summer move comes to the table.
