These 2 players have seriously regressed under Antonio Conte at Chelsea

The Chelsea supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are partying hard in the bar of late, with the Blues romping towards the Premier League title this season.

Whilst the other big clubs in the division have gone through inconsistent periods this season, Chelsea have kept progressing at a frantic pace and no look nailed on to win the title in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge.

The Blues have a solid looking squad and with a few additions in the summer there is no reason why the Blues cannot become a real force in the Champions League too.

Several of the Chelsea fans in the Tavern are necking the landlord’s four-pint pitchers and they are chatting about the players who have been star performers this season, whilst others are chatting about players in the squad who have not been quite so good.

Our landlord looks at TWO Chelsea players who have regressed under the management of Conte…..

Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian striker was one of Conte’s big summer signings and although he is clearly a talented marksman, his chances to play at Stamford Bridge have been limited to say the least.

The striker has played second fiddle to Diego Costa for the majority of the campaign and a summer departure could be on the cards, with a return to France the most likely looking scenario.

Willian

The Brazilian forward was the shining light for the Blues during their horrible campaign last season, yet he has found himself down the pecking order following a change of formation by Conte.

The energetic performer is far too good to be sat on the bench on a regular basis and one Blues supporter in the Tavern thinks that Willian is a quality player, stating that if he doesn’t start playing soon then he could move away from the club during the summer transfer window.
