These 2 Rangers players are to blame for the club’s awful season

Rangers fans here in the Tavern are praying that their side can improve in the next campaign, as they’ve looked less than convincing so far this season after failing to compete with bitter rivals Celtic.

Indeed, the Bluenoses have struggled for consistency in the current campaign as Graeme Murty is edging closer towards a summer exit, after failing to make the most of a promising position against Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final. And, with a European spot still yet to be confirmed they’ll have to show huge improvements from here on in to fend off the likes of Hibernian and Aberdeen.

Although, Rangers’ awful season can be put down to a number of players failing to meet expectations, as defensive issues continue to cause problems against tough opposition. So, there could be a major overhaul conducted in the summer transfer window, as Dave King will expect nothing less than silverware and success in the next campaign.

Therefore, these TWO Rangers players are to blame for the club’s awful season…

Bruno Alves

Bruno Alves has had a season to forget as one of the worst performers in the Rangers squad thus far, with mistakes and indecisiveness constantly causing trouble for the Glasgow side.

Sadly, many of our local residents want to see the back of the defender in the summer transfer window, as the only thing he’s been good at this season is giving the ball away in dangerous areas.

Alves is definitely one of the players to blame for the awful season that Rangers are having, as they’ve leaked goals in recent times and his age is beginning to show.

Russell Martin

Interestingly, Russell Martin was brought to Ibrox back in January to help provide more experience at the back, but even some of the youngsters have outshone the on loan central defender since he made the move.

Of course, it was always going to be difficult for the defender to make the switch from English football to the Scottish game, and it’s clear to see that he’s struggling at this moment in time as mistakes are ever-present.

So without further ado, the on loan Norwich City man has been one of the main reasons behind the club’s awful season thus far, as a lack of pace often sees him lose out against some of the Scottish Premiership’s best attackers.
