These 2 wonderkids could emerge for Chelsea in the second half of the season

Chelsea are under pressure this season and have been for a while now to show they can produce talent from their academy and not just spend big on players every year.

Under Antonio Conte, the task this year has firmly been set on winning the league, which has meant our Chelsea fans here in the Tavern have little to complain about.

Some of the chat over by the jukebox though has been around the young players at the club. The likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah have been given the odd chance, but neither have stamped their authority on the team.

However, with Chelsea romping to the title it seems, opportunity might open up as the season draws to a close for Conte to give some further talent the chance.

Our landlord agrees, so with that in mind, here are TWO wonderkids who could emerge for Chelsea in the second half of this season…

Josimar Quintero

Young Ecuadorian Quintero is at a make or break stage in his Chelsea career, with his contract due to expire at the end of this season.

He has however put in some solid performances for the under-21 squad, and he will be hoping Antonio Conte gives him a chance before the end of the season.

Charlie Wakefield

Exciting winger Charlie Wakefield is still only an 18-year-old, but has played for all stages of the development set up at Chelsea already.

He has predominantly excelled for the under-18 squad at the Bridge, but has made comfortable step ups to both the under-19 and under-21 sides.

Wakefield will be hoping to make the next step up sooner rather than later, and he looks to be a top player for the future of Chelsea football club.
