Here in the Transfer Tavern we’re enjoying every minute of the season so far and that can certainly be said for the Reds fans by the bar.
They’ve seen their team beat Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester with impressive performances and you have to say they’re looking pretty good for the top four right now.
If they continue these performances then they’ll be right up there at the business end of the season, whilst Jurgen Klopp also looks like he’s got his squad in pretty lean shape.
A number of players were moved on this summer as Klopp aimed to make the squad more his own and he largely did a good job, but our landlord thinks a bit more could have been done.
This in mind, then, here are THREE more players who are still stealing a living off of the Reds…
Alberto Moreno
He’s Liverpool’s only left back and still can’t get in the side so what is he being paid for?
Unless Jurgen Klopp sees something that he can work on with Moreno it’ll be highly likely that he’ll leave the club.
Perhaps not in the window in January but almost definitely in the window next summer.
Tiago Ilori
Ilori has been at the club for some time and still can’t force his way into the team so it’s really a necessity for both club and his career that he goes.
He signed as a promising defender but hasn’t really shown any of that for the Reds, so he might as well get going and try and salvage something elsewhere.
Alex Manninger
This still scratches heads here in the Transfer Tavern, why did Liverpool sign the former Arsenal goalkeeper?
It would have perhaps made more sense if the Reds only had the one ‘keeper but they have two.
Maybe he’ll move into coaching and help out there but as a member of the playing squad it’s hard to see what his wages are for.
